In Outlook, I have an enforced 3-minute delay to prevent any of those “oh sh*t” moments. I recently discovered that on my newly installed laptop, if I grabbed a message in my Outbox to make a quick change before it left, it would then never send (even after I’d re-hit the Send button), with the email icon instead retaining the draft email icon:
There’s a whole load of information out there about people trying to find complex workarounds to this but here’s the thing, all you have to do when this happens is drag the message to your draft folder, double-click it in there and hit Send.
Problem solved.
PERFECT! thank you so much. I had exactly that problem, resulting from putting a delay on sending for exactly that reason.
Hi Gemma,
You’re welcome – glad it helped!
